Introducing our Patron Professor S. Surya Prakash, a respected legal scholar with over thirty years of experience in academia. He is currently the Vice Chancellor at the National Law Institute University in Bhopal and brings valuable knowledge to the institution.
His career includes significant milestones. He has served as Vice Chancellor at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University in Visakhapatnam and founded Maharashtra National Law University in Aurangabad. Professor Surya Prakash is not just a scholar, he is also a prolific writer. He has written many works on current issues, with publications ranging from 'Bonded Labour and Social Justice' (1990) to 'Constitution and Composite Culture' (2023). His literary contributions show his commitment to social justice and legal education.
Along with his writing, Professor Surya Prakash has presented over 40 research papers at various national and international seminars and conferences, adding to the global legal conversation. He has also participated in important projects, such as those with DFID-GVT and the High Court of M.P. This involvement highlights his dedication to the field of law.
His passion for international engagement is evident. In 2010, he was invited by the U.S. State Department to participate in the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) to study the U.S. judicial system. This experience offered him unique insights into the U.S. judicial system and legal education.
Professor Surya Prakash has a strong interest in various legal areas, including jurisprudence, alternative dispute resolution, international commercial arbitration, labor laws, health law, as well as culture and law. His diverse contributions to the legal field make him an inspiring figure.
